The Swiss Government, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), has introduced the prestigious ‘Excellence Scholarships for Pakistani Students’ for the upcoming academic year 2024-25.
This scholarship program encompasses opportunities for one-year post-master’s research, three-year post-master’s, PhD, and one-year Post-Doctoral Programs (PDP). According to insider information from HEC local chapters, this initiative aims to empower aspiring candidates.

The primary objective behind the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships is to foster educational prospects for foreign scholars pursuing master’s or PhD degrees. The selection of scholarship recipients will be meticulously conducted under the oversight of the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students.
Additionally, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a Scholarship Program tailored for students hailing from Gilgit-Baltistan, enabling them to pursue higher education in esteemed Pakistani universities and institutions.
Outstanding students from Gilgit-Baltistan who aspire to undertake undergraduate studies (four/five years BS programs) from HEC-recognized public sector universities and degree-awarding institutions (DAIs) for the academic year 2023-24 are invited to apply. This initiative is part of the project titled, “Undergraduate Scholarship Program for the Students of Gilgit-Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-III).”
Regarding eligibility criteria, applicants must possess a domicile or local certificate from Gilgit-Baltistan and have successfully completed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or its equivalent.
